We have compiled a list of some of our favourite local destinations that are ideal for a family picnic or BBQ, playgrounds for the kids or recreation areas for outdoor fitness.
Deepwater Park:
Located off Henry Lawson Drive with access via Webster Street, Milperra, this area features barbecues, bushwalking tracks, nature trails, playground equipment, toilets and has waterside views.
Monash Reserve:
Found at Henry Lawson Drive, East Hills, this reserve features playground equipment, a picnic area, waterside views, public toilets and parking.
Paul Keating Park:
Located at The Mall in Bankstown, Paul Keating Park features an amphitheatre, exeloos (wheelchair access), seating and sheltered playground equipment.
Salt Pan Creek:
Salt Pan Creek is located at Bridge Sreet, Padstow and to Hoskins Avenue Bankstown. It is accessible via Alma Road, Tallawarra Avenue, Meager Avenue and Gow Street. The facilities include a kids playground, boardwalks, cycleways, rest shelters, fishing decks and walking trails.
Vale of Ah Reserve:
The Vale of Ah Reserve is located in Milperra with a lot to offer. The Reserve is a great spot for a family picnic or get together, sporting facility or dog off leash areas and also features agility equipment.
It also includes a cricket pitch, shade shelter, waterside views, touch/oztag football fields and public toilets.
